Ottolenghi

"The deli counter that changed how Britain cooks vegetables — trays of roasted, herbed, citrus-bright salads eaten in at a communal table."

Yotam Ottolenghi's Islington original is still the clearest expression of the idea that made him famous: vegetables treated as the main event, piled high at the counter with herbs, nuts, pomegranate and preserved lemon. Meat and fish appear, but nobody orders them first. Go early for a seat at the shared table, order three salads and a slice of something absurd from the cake stand.
