Who she is

Real food, no compromise.

Gillian McKeith is a television presenter, nutritionist and author best known for creating and fronting You Are What You Eat, the television series that put real food and honest eating on screen. The programme ran around the world and led to a string of books, live tours and a long-running conversation with readers about what they were actually putting on their plates.

Her books cover practical food advice, shopping, cooking and everyday health. They have been translated into many languages and have sold internationally. The common thread through all of them is the same one that runs through her television work: eat food that is close to its natural state, and be suspicious of anything that arrives in a packet pretending to be healthy.

The Gillian McKeith Restaurant Guide was founded because the same problem kept arriving by post and in conversation. People wanted to eat well when they travelled, but had no reliable way to find restaurants that took vegetables, whole grains, organic produce and honest sourcing seriously. The guide exists to solve that: every entry is reviewed against a clear standard, and nobody pays to be included.
